The city of Citrus Heights is part of the San Juan Unified School District, the ninth largest district in the state of California. The San Juan School District serves a 75 Square mile region in northeast Sacramento County which includes Citrus Heights. The city’s 10,000 students attend at one of the ten elementary schools, one middle school or two high schools. The school district also makes available other educational programs such as adult schools, adult handicapped schools, special education centers, preschools and before-and-after programs.
The Citrus Heights area boasts excellent institutions of higher learning too with colleges and universities including: American River College; California State University, Sacramento; Golden Gate University; Lincoln Law School; McGeorge School of Law; National University; Sierra College; University of California, Davis; and the University of Phoenix.
